2011 Fall Camp: Final Scrimmage

It's officially game week at the 'Catdome!  Wildcat11 made it out Saturday morning to the 'Catdome to catch the 'Cats final official act of the 2011 fall camp as Linfield held their full scrimmage complete with game officials.  The 'Cats were much more polished this time around but still have many areas to tighten up headed into a huge season opener with Cal Lutheran.  The speed of the defense jumps out right away and while the 'Cats are not huge up front it's obvious they can move.  I'll be curious to see how the 'Cats defense front and linebackers handles a big and physical CLU offensive line next week.  Linfield's WR corp look strong as the staff will have lots of options to choose from and will be able to send out a number of different looks with this group.  One thing that did surprise me was the staff turned loose the QB's in the spread option and were surprisingly allusive in attacking the edges.  Overall, I'm cautiously optimistic about the 2011 season.  I feel this Linfield team has great promise and talent but they can't come along slowly as Linfield has a tremendous test to start the season in California Lutheran.  The areas where we're young at are going to have to grow up quickly and I'm excited to see if the 'Cats can rise up to the challenge next Saturday.  Send 'Em Up!
