Game 5: Linfield at Pacific Game Day Guide

View 2011 Linfield Wildcats Football Guide in a larger map

2nd road trip of the year as the 'Cats make the short trip up to Forest Grove to take on the Boxers.  No matter what some old timers at Pacific might say there are plenty of paved roads out of McMinnville to make the short trip North.  Very much looking forward to making my 1st trip to Pacific to take in a football game.  From what I've seen the Boxers have the right idea in allowing fans plenty of access around the field so seating shouldn't be an option.  Do plan on bringing some rain gear as their are some chances for rain on Saturday and there is no covered seating at Pacific.

A Boxer supporter passed along some spots to hit in Forest Grove for grub.  McMenamins Grand Lodge, Prime Time for a solid pub choice, or a more upscale choice is Stacchini's located downtown.  Also, word is the Pacific tailgate scene is very solid so there should be plenty of mingling and grub options.

REMINDER: Parents and Fans that are looking to travel to Menlo and Whitworth. For the Menlo game the team will be staying at the Hilton Garden Inn in Mountain View and for the Whitworth game the 'Cats will be staying at the Red Lion River Inn in Spokane.

Spent a lot of time in Forest Grove as a kid (not so much since), but this is what I remember.

Pregame: Maggie's Buns is a block off campus and has the best breakfast in town bar none.

Postgame, the McMenamins Grand Lodge is on the eastern edge of town, right at the intersection of Hwy. 8 and Hwy. 47. It's a huge old Masonic Lodge, and you literally can't miss it. The place has a good vibe and a wider selection of food than most McMenamins.

Also, there's a phenomenal little hole-in-the-wall Mexican place on Main Street, but I can't remember its name. You'll know it if/when you find it.
